Kodak, well-known for digital cameras and photo films now competes in the market bringing a variety in electronics product with the launch of its new Kodak i 1220 Scanner. This scanner unit has dimensions of 330 x 246 x 162 mm and weighs 5.5kgs (12 lbs). The scanning unit is based on dual CCD technology and has a capacity to produce a daily scan volume of 1500 pages.
The unit supports both colour and greyscale scanning with up to 30 pages /min and 60 images per minute at 200 dpi. The unit is a desktop document scanner with a maximum supported media size of 215 x 863 mm and the minimum document size supported is 50 mm x 63.5 mm. The feeder is of auto load type and has a capacity to handle small documents such as ID cards, embossed cards and insurance cards. Kodak i 1220 Sheetfed Scanner has a feature of multi-feed detection using ultrasonic technology.
This sheetfed scanner scans documents with an optical resolution of 600 dpi and 1200 dpi. The connectivity is USB 2.0. The output of the scanner could be chosen to be single and multi page TIFF, JPEG, RTF, PDF and searchable PDF. The unit has a document storage capacity of 50 sheets.
The unit works on an AC voltage of 120/230 V at 50/60 Hz with power consumption being 40 Watts at operations and 6 Watts at Standby. The scanner unit works with the system running on Microsoft Windows 2000/XP operating system and certain supporting softwares included are Drivers & Utilities, Scan Soft Omni Page, Scan Soft Paper Port, and KODAK Capture Software Lite.
