HP Scanjet G4050 Scanner is a flatbed scanner which has an optical resolution of 4800 dpi x 9600 dpi. It is a desktop scanner that supports colour input. It has a CCD scan element and is ideal for scanning plain paper, bulk objects like books, film etc.

This flatbed scanner has a colour depth of 96-bit colours and 8-bit greyscale depth. Scan, copy, Scan film and Scan to PDF buttons are provided on the control panel of this scanner. The system has a speed of 29 sec/scan for colour photo with a size of 10 x 15cm, 25 sec/scan for OCR – A4, 35 sec/scan for film (positives) with 35mm size, 45 sec/scan for film (negatives) with 35mm size and 8.5 sec/scan for preview mode. The scanner has a manual media feeder and the maximum document size supported is 216 mm x 311 mm.

The media types supported are Paper (plain, inkjet, photo, banner), envelopes, labels, cards (index, greeting), 3-D objects, 35 mm slides and negatives (using transparent materials adapter) and iron-on transfers.
