Canon DR-2580C Scanner

Canon DR-2580C Scanner is a new pass-through scanner from Canon supporting USB interface. This device has dimensions of 30.5 x 16.8 x 8.1cm and weight of 1.9kg. The maximum resolution supported is 600 x 600 dpi.

The scanner is a stylish and smart, ultra-compact device that gives out crisp and fast scanning in both greyscale and colour. Other functions carried out by the scanner are duplex scanning, retard roller, paper separation and e-mail. This scanner can scan A4, portrait and B&W documents at 25ppm with a resolution of 200dpi. Some of other scan speeds depending on the media are 50ppm, 32ppm, 18ppm, 17ppm and 13ppm. It has a duty cycle of approximately 1000 scans per day. It has the capacity to store about 50 sheets.

Pressure sensitive papers can be fed in particular direction while perforated paper used for binders can be fed with the limitation of holes. Curled paper can be fed into the scanner if the curl is less than 5mm.Whereas, creased paper can be fed after straightening the crease. The fed in paper takes a U-turn path after scanning and gets ejected in the face direction if the U-turn path.  Major output resolutions of the scanner are 100 x 100dpi, 150 x 150dpi, 200 x 200dpi, 240 x 240dpi, 300 x 300dpi, 400 x 400dpi and 600 x 600dpi.

This device makes use of Contact Image Sensor to scan the media. An RGB LED light source is used for scanning and is done at a maximum colour depth of 24-bits.
