The scan speed of the device is 16 ms/line in colour at a resolution of 600 dpi and 32 ms/line at a resolution of 1200 dpi. The same for greyscale is 5.3 ms/line at a resolution of 600 dpi and 10.6 ms/line at a resolution of 1200 dpi. The time taken to view the scan preview is 16 sec/scan.

The grey scale depths featured are 16-bit and 8-bit external grey depth. In the case of colour depth it can be calculated as 48-bit and 24-bit as the external. Various control panel buttons such as Scan, copy, email and file offers perfect handling of the scanner. Enhanced connectivity is offered with 1 x USB - 4 PIN USB Type B interface and 1 x USB cable. Another factor considered is how well the unit manages the power and this unit consumes a power of 2.5 Watt on stand by mode. Proper functioning of the unit is made possible between the temperatures of 5 °C and 35 °C and humidity range of 10 – 90%.

This Canon Scanner is capable of scanning to PDF files. This is an USB bus powered unit. Another enhanced feature supported by this device is that there are provisions for exempting dust and scratch from the unit with QARE Level 3. Back light correction and multi photo mode is facilitated in the unit for improved efficiency. This unit supports MAC and PC.
